This artwork lives in House of Barter, a community space built by the creative Black women of The Zoo XYZ.

HIM was inspired by a photograph discovered online and reflects Mundaii's interest in alternative fashion and self-expression. Influenced by punk-inspired aesthetics, the piece incorporates details such as facial piercings, bold jewellery, and bantu knots to explore individuality, confidence, and alternative representations of Black masculinity.

Created using digital watercolour brushes and a textured paper background, HIM pushed the artist beyond her creative comfort zone while allowing her to experiment with texture, style, and identity through portraiture.
